Boštjan Kavčič  was born in Šempeter near Gorica, Slovenia in 1973. He attended primary school in Tolmin and secondary school for electrical engineering in Nova Gorica. In 1997, he graduated in Banking and Finance from the Faculty of Economics and Business in Maribor. Between 1997 and 2003 he studied Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana (ALUO). During his studies, he received the University Prešeren Award for Sculpture and graduated in the class of Prof. Lujo Vodopivec. From 2003 to 2005, he was a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture for his postgraduate studies in Video at ALUO, obtaining his master's degree under the supervision of Prof. Srečo Dragan in 2007. He has presented himself in numerous solo and group exhibitions. He has participated in various international symposia and has installed many public works at home and abroad. His works are included in private and public collections of museums and galleries. He lives and works in Rodine, Bela Krajina, Slovenia.

2015 - 1st prize for the 25th anniversary of Slovenia's independence monument, Municipality of Novo mesto, Novo mesto

2012 - Prize for the commemoration of the 300th anniversary of the Tolmin Peasant Uprising, Municipality of Tolmin

2008 - KD Holding award, 12th Slovenian Sculpture Exhibition

2001 - University Prešeren award for sculpture
